With a wealth of experience and a warm, friendly approach, Dr. Aashna is committed to making every dental visit a positive and enjoyable experience for your child.
Dr. Aashna Kumar, DMD, is a pediatric dentist with a passion for making going to the dentist a positive experience for kids to build lifelong healthy habits. Dr. Kumar loves making dentistry fun for kids and helping them overcome the fear of coming to the dentist that many kids experience! She is super excited to move back near the area where she grew up to bring smiles to the community!
Dr. Kumar knew she wanted to be a dentist from a very early age. However, as she progressed through her dental training, she uncovered her passion for caring for kids. During her advanced training in general dentistry, she cemented her love of caring for children prompting a career shift away from adult dentistry and towards her true passion for pediatrics.
Dr. Kumar was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and pursued her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Her academic journey continued in Cleveland, OH, where she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD).
Dr. Kumar then moved to Richmond, VA to complete a Pediatric Dental Residency at the Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital. Here, she earned her Pediatric Dentistry certificate, equipping her with the advanced training to provide high-quality care for young patients.
Dr. Kumar is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Forsyth County Dental Society. In her free time, she loves trying new coffee shops and restaurants. Her hobbies include traveling, yoga, and trying new foods!
